Today is #PortfolioDay! If you are a creative looking for work, compose that post and send it out! If you’re a client looking to hire an artist, now’s your chance to discover new work! Even if you don’t fall into either of these categories, it is an excellent day to find new work to fall in love with and to support those whose work you’ve loved all along.
If having your images scraped for use in datasets without your consent is something that concerns you, here are a few additional recommendations before you upload:
🔸Nightshade and/or Glaze your work
Offense: http://nightshade.cs.uchicago.edu/index.html
Defense: http://glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/index.html
(If your computer can't handle these programs, try WebGlaze: http://glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/webglaze.html )
🔸Only upload web-sized images to the internet
🔸Watermark everything
🔸Consider cropping images that you share to social media and only display full versions somewhere you control.
🔸Keep your portfolio behind a password or paywall. There's no guarantee bots aren't just bypassing this so still Nightshade/Glaze liberally!
